| M.A.T.B.O (Mobile-All-Terrain-Base-of-Operations)Location: Mobile Faction Association: The Royal Union Carrying Capacity: The M.A.T.B.O. can house 3,500 people comfortably, but it can hold another thousand people if necessary. Population: 2,500 Services: The M.A.T.B.O. provides nearly every service imaginable: trade, repairs, entertainment of every sort, hosting parties, fabrication, and more all occur on board. A common saying there is that "if you need it, the union has it." This saying also extends to services beyond what is strictly "legal" though such operations are a well-kept and closely guarded secret. Slaves, prostitutes, assassins, pirates, and fences can all be found in the "secret markets" which are literal markets hidden behind closed gates and guarded by various traps and soldiers. Purpose: The main purpose of this tiny mobile city is to maximize profit while acting as a base in which to plan and strategize future ventures to undertaken by The Royal Union. It also acts as the home of notable individual and leader of the union: his lordship, who has, with great effort, made the M.A.T.B.O. Into a vessel of extreme military power, possessing more guns and armor than even the largest pure-military frigate. Additional power cells also let the legs of the vessel move much faster and it's rockets to attain more thrust, giving it great speed despite its size. Appearance: Guards: There are 1,000 guards in all, not counting the additional 1,000 androids, who are not counted as part of the population and are made to work all hours, so they don't take up room. Androids primarily operate the seldom used military defenses. Due to the Royal union's paranoia these defenses are required to be manned at all times despite how little combat the M.A.T.B.O. actually sees; in this way they are never taken off-guard. Androids are best for this role as humans grow tired and lack the reflexes of an android. All human guards are extremely experienced in combat, though there is minimal training; they are simply battle-tested, which is an important quality in a guard because it lets the employer be assured that soldiers will not break under pressure. As the richest faction, the Royal union has outfitted all guards in top-of-the-line, medium thickness armor, a sturdy combat knife (nearly 1 foot long), a powerful pistol, and an advanced semi-automatic steam-powered rifle. Reputation: Between its military power, economic success, and unique mobile abilities, the "walking city" is infamous as a testament to the ability of man over nature. | |
